There are so many things out there that make life great! I mean, just random things that alone, aren't really things I would call "day-makers" -- but in combination with a few other tiny things, make for some form of 'perfection.' Don't mind me while I ramble....
For instance -- I LOVE iced tea. This isn't news to most of the Lily readers out there. I prefer my iced tea with some hint of berry or mango, but not sweetened. And the maximum amount of ice that will fit in the glass, yes, please.
And while I was drinking that tea, I spotted a red fox about 50 yards away from my back door. Just playing, and trying to eat some grasshoppers. So I ran to get my camera, and when I did, I thought -- "gosh, I like fall. I am going to take a picture of that wreath on my front door that Heather did for me last year." Then I jumped out on the front porch, took a picture or two, then spotted some kind of lizard. It was a good-sized lizard. They move so fast, it kind of startled me. But I took a picture of it, even though I couldn't get very close. By the time I got back to the fox, he wasn't nearly as close as he had been. But he has been visiting our yard for the last couple of weeks nearly every night, so I am going to keep that camera a little more handy.........
And don't get me started on my cable shows that I newly love. omg. Breaking Bad is one of my mostest favorites. Just don't ask me what it is about. I don't want you to think I promote that sort of thing, or condone it, only because I can't help myself that I want to watch it so bad. But, oh my, is it good. So good it is bad. Okay, so it's about this high school chemistry teacher that cooks crystal meth with a former student to pay for his chemo treatments. He has lung cancer. Crazy good acting and writing. It has won several Emmys. Wild stuff.
My perspective from the center of the United States. Not the center of the universe, just the center of the country. You aren't going to come away from my blog with a ton of new knowledge. You could learn about a new piece of farm equipment or possibly a new kind of hair gel -- it all depends on my mood. I sure do love sports. Pro - not so much... Collegiate - yes, please. Come and investigate life with me.

Must Not Be....
So I must not be a real blogger. I just have had more than a few reasons to not post. None of which are very important. None of them are very significant. Most include some form of "I don't have anything much to say."
Forget the fact that I have new television shows to watch. Oh my goodness, we have had new episodes of Desperate Housewives, and Castle, and Oprah, not to mention that most late night shows have all new big guests and no reruns. And as a personal highlight, Anderson Cooper has guest-hosted on Regis and Kelly more than a few times. Mike knows he is my boyfriend. I mean boyfriend, as in, he is way cute and super smart and lives about 2000 miles away from my happily married self. And then I saw that I could start watching Friday Night Lights from the very beginning on ABC Family. More good news!
And maybe the biggest news of all -- the return of fall college football!!! Woo hoo! I can watch nearly any team. I love Love LOVE college football. And yesterday I watched about two days full, all in one. Okay, I just watched a bunch. In fact, I was a bum. Yep. Laid on the chair all day. Well, I finally just gave in and decided to be sick, since I was anyway. Much to the family's glee, I have not had a voice to speak with for the better part of 4 days. Yeah, well, and I am better now, and autumn is here, so life is good.
Ended the day with a freshly mowed yard. No, not due to any effort on my part. Mike spent the biggest part of the day mowing, weed-eating and watering the orchard. A big bunch of trees planted in and around the yard. And I shouldn't have called it that, because there isn't a fruit-bearing tree in the bunch.
And regarding the "new" Carlos on Desperate -- there isn't a "new" Carlos! That's the 'original' Carlos, he just lost some weight! Sorry for the spoiler!

Another Finale
It is what it is. Tonight was the season finale of the Bachelorette. I try not to, but I can't help watching. And all throughout the season, the spoilers have been saying, "she walks away empty-handed," "she leaves picking no one," and "Roberto leaves her in the cold." None of which are what happened! I couldn't believe it when we got to the end of the show, and she picked darling Roberto, and he picked her back! Gosh, he's cute. I even convinced Mike to watch the whole three hour debacle with me, and about half way through, he says, "you know, that Roberto is a pretty nice lookin guy." To which I responded, "do ya think?" Hello!?
But poor Chris, the landscaper from Massachusetts. He came from such a sad year or so, losing his mom and all, and here he makes it to the final two, and she has to break his heart. She tried to do it as gently as she could, but I guess when you aren't feeling it, you just can't help it. I thought it was interesting that the producers allowed her to let him go before the final rose ceremony. I never really believed that the bachelor/bachelorette had that much creative input in the actual filming of the show.
Well, I was sucked in to yet another reality show, and I forced myself to withstand the duration. I gotta get a life. Maybe I can find a wedding to get involved with or something.....

FNL Overdose
One of my favorite shows is coming to it's season finale next week, and I am just sick about it. Friday Night Lights.
I love this show, but no one in my household shares my affinity for it. So I DVR it, and I watch when no one else is around. Well, I was a few weeks behind, so today I caught myself up. I had five episodes to watch, and I took today's wide open opportunity to view every single one. It was fabulous! Now I know why Principal Tami Taylor's job is on the line after she gave counsel to a very young, unwed mother-to-be. Even though she followed protocol and did everything exactly as she should, politics are plenty at Dillon High School, and she continues to be a target. And I know that Tim Riggins, the ex-football star who threw his college scholarship away, really does have a thing for that Becky girl, even though she is considerably younger than he is. Boy, is he cute! Oh, and I couldn't believe it when the Panthers destroyed the East Dillon football field right before the big rivalry game. It was hilarious when the Lions players retaliated by spiking the entire Dillon High Panthers field with toothpicks, thousands of them! But the game has been moved to a neutral field, devastating to East Dillon, and that will be held next week in the finale. All the while, Coach and Tami's daughter, who BTW aced her east coast collegiate interviews in Boston, has decided maybe she wants to run away with Habitat for Humanity and some rebound guy. The baby was finally born to Tim Riggins' brother, Billy, and his wife, right before Tim and Billy got arrested for operating a chop shop. The finale will probably leave us hanging on that one. Vince, the star quarterback, cannot decide whether or not to be in on the revenge for Calvin's death. Too bad the season ends next week. I can almost predict all the ways they are going to leave me hanging!
But with the end of the FNL season, comes the beginning of the NCAA football season. REAL football! You gotta love it!
